Class: Boro & Sashiko for Repair & Embellishment
Do you have jeans with holes, old work pants that have seen better days, or a beloved jacket that is wearing thin in places? In this class you will learn techniques for repairing and embellishing your garments in the Japanese tradition of sashiko (the stitches) and boro (the patches used for embellishment and repair.)
This class will equip you with a basic knowledge of the sashiko style and history, as well as a sizable piece of fabric (approx. 10x10) made from scraps and with a variety of sashiko stitching. This can be used as a display piece or incorporated into a larger project.
